A Letter From Chairman Rob Frost:

It has been said, “It takes hands to build a house, but only hearts can build a home.” Since the establishment of the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County, many a heart has called headquarters home. From St. Clair Ave, to 1512 Euclid Avenue, to the Leader Building on Superior, and most recently to the Post Office Plaza office, volunteers, grassroots leaders, candidates and elected officials have spent countless hours building the structure of our Party at Headquarters. With each move, we’ve collected our priceless memories and taken them with us, to pass on from generation to generation. Fond accounts of the beginnings of political careers, friendships, and even marriages continue to bring our seasoned members together and inspire our new members to carry on the traditions of their predecessors.

In talking with former Chairmen and Chairwomen, Officers, other Party Leaders, and grassroots activists about our upcoming move to the Halle Building, I was regaled with such stories: a visit from Vice President Rockefeller, Senator and Mrs. Voinovich meeting in our hallowed halls, State Treasurer Josh Mandel starting with the Party as an intern, volunteers cross referencing poll books and the yellow pages looking for phone numbers for phone banks (yes, this is how things worked before the internet!), packed rooms during Central and Executive Committee meetings, and late nights coordinating get-out-the-vote efforts.

And now, our Party is at another crossroads. With the anticipation of the RNC Convention next year, it’s time we once again pack up our memories and begin again, bigger and stronger in the redesigned Halle Building at 1228 Euclid Avenue.

On behalf of my Capital Campaign Co-Chairs Sen. George Voinovich and Cmdr. Vince Francioli, I can say it is with great anticipation that we approach this turning of the page. Having the storefront headquarters in the Halle Building in Downtown Cleveland, which has recently seen significant increases in population growth, and in the Playhouse Square district that attracts more than 1 million people each year, should substantially increase the visibility of our Party in Cuyahoga County. In addition to the increased visibility, the new headquarters has a dedicated space for volunteers and interns, and a building conference center for larger Party leadership and membership meetings. The new of ce will help the Party and its candidates take advantage of the advances in technology that are shaping modern campaigning.

As we honor the roots of our Party, we continue to grow and will embrace the changes the future will bring. I hope you and your family will join in preserving the institution we have built together. I am pleased to offer you the opportunity to add your name to the Legacy Wall, a stretch of windows framing the new office, on which Party members, supporters, and others will have their names etched (See info graph on next page). I hope you will help uphold the legacy of our Party, and continue our mission of fostering Republican principles to aid the cause of good government in our county, state, and nation.

Thank you for your continued support and confidence in the Republican Party of Cuyahoga County.
